Vitals Monitoring

Vital signs are measurement of the body’s most basic functions. The four main vistas signs routinely monitored by our professional healthcare providers include Body temperature- the normal body temperature of a person varies depending on gender, recent activity, food and fluid consumption. Time of day and stage of menstrual in women
Pulse rate, is a measurement of the heart rate or the number of times the heart beats per minute. As the heart pushes blood through the arteries, the arteries expand and contract with the flow of the blood
Respiration rate- rate of breathing- is the number of breaths a person takes per minute. Is measured when a person is at rest. Respiration rates may increase with fever, illness and other medical conditions Blood pressure- is the force of the blood pushing against the artery walls during contraction and relaxation of the heart.Two numbers are recorded when measuring blood pressure. The higher the number or systolic pressure refers to pressure inside the artery when the heart contracts and pumps blood through the body. The lower number or diastolic pressure refers to the pressure inside the artery when the heart is at rest and filling with blood.Both the systolic and diastolic pressure are recorded as "mm Hg"( millimeters of Mercury).Blood pressure is categoried as;

• a)Normal Blood pressure- systolic of less than 120 and diastolic of less than 80(120/80)
• b)Elevated blood pressure- systolic of 120 to 129 and diastolic less than 80.
• c)Stage 1 high blood pressure- systolic is 130 to 139 or diastolic between 80 to 89.
• d) Stage 2 high blood pressure- when systolic is 140 or higher or diastolic is 90 or higher.

Bathing

Cleanliness is next to Godliness. In our agency bathing is our daily routine service that we deliver to our clients mainly to clean and deodorize the skin, to stimulate circulation and comfort, our staffs are highly trained to deliver different types of bath concerning the patients condition I.e Partial bath - it is type of bathing performed when the resident is incontinet of urine or stool. It includes washing the face, underarms, hands and perineal( genital and anal) area. And only the body parts that have been soiled are cleaned. Dirty linens are changed.
Tub or shower bath, - tub bath include soaking and washing the body in a tub, while shower bath includes showering the body with a steady spray of water. Tub or shower bath is mainly performed when the resident can safely sit in a shower chair or stand with supervision in a shower. Complete bed bath - it is a bath provided for clients who have difficulty getting out of the bed , are experiencing excessive pain, or have other physical or cognitive issues that make other types of bathing less tolerable

Feeding Patients

It is the act or process of eating or being fed to acquire nutrients from the environment. Heartkeepers nursing agency healthcare providers are highly trained in different types of feeding procedures like Enteral - involves administering nutrients via the gastrointestinal tract. It may be administered orally or via tube feeding. Oral- oral nutritional supplements (ONS) are nutrition support products that provide and effective and non invasive way for people to meet their nutrition needs or increase their nutritional intake. People who take ONS may also be able to eat regular food but cannot meet all their nutritional requirements through a regular diet alone and thus require supplemental nutrition Tube feeding - it is an enteral nutrition (EN) therapy procedure administered directly into the gastrointestinal tract as a tube feeding to people who have a condition or illness which limits or impairs oral intake EN via tube feeding provides life sustaining nutrients and is often required as a first option feeding method when a person is unable to consume food orally and/or has an impaired digestive system parenteral nutrition (PN)is the intravenous administration (feeding into a vein) of nutrients directly into the systematic circulation, bypassing the gastrointestinal tract.

General Toileting

Toileting includes the use of a toilet, commode, bedpan or urinal, the cleansing of the individual after the act, changes of incontinence devices such as pads or diapers management of paying or catheters and adjustment to clothing, which are more familiar to our healthcare providers and output- is the measurement of food and fluid that enters and exists the body. Output that is emptied from a catheter must be placed in a level container (such as urinal) in order to be measured and recorded Bowel Movement- it is generally measured by its size (small, medium, or large) given the amount. additionally, if a patient has diarrhea, this is recorded. A patient who has not had a bowel movement in several days is often given laxatives

Grooming

the tasks involved in grooming help maintain body hygiene and in turn good health. Which is more considered at heart keepers nursing agency. Examples of grooming services we deliver include. Nail care - we prevent germs from collecting underneath the seniors nails by cleaning and filling nails regularly. Long or torn nails can lead to inadvertent scratches and subsequent infections. On the other hand, nails cut too short can lead to ingrown nails and infections Shaving or not shaving facial hair, underarm hair or leg hair are personal choices, ones that may be influenced by cultural norms. Our caregivers are trained to assist seniors who shave in order to prevent nice and cuts that lead to infections

Companionship

Because of the emotional bonds that are key to companionship care, our staffs assess your loved ones to understand what their interests, likes and dislikes are. One of our agency seek to understand their personality and what makes their eyes light up. Then we match what we find with the best suited companion carer on our staff who will be appointed as the main companion carer for you or your loved one. This ensures true companionship for you or your loved one for as long as it’s needed. Companion care visits can be conducted entirely at home, in a care home or while taking a walk. Drug Administration

As heartkeepers nursing agency, our healthcare providers team consist of a professional nurse aids who are trained in assisting people in: taking tablets, capsules, oral mixture; applying a cream/ointment; inserting drops to ears, nose or eyes; and administering inhaled medication and giving an insulin injection: NB in our agency, nurse aids are not allowed in intravenous injection (IN) unless authorized by our care manager. When it comes to patients who require medication rapidly or slowly, but constantly via intravenous at home, our agency will provide a well qualified licensed nurse for intravenous procedure
